The Pentagon of the United States has initiated a new task force with the purpose of exploring the potential applications of generative artificial intelligence in the nation's defense efforts.



On August 10th, an announcement was made by the Pentagon regarding the establishment of "Task Force Lima." This task force is dedicated to investigating how AI can be seamlessly integrated across various aspects of the U.S. defense infrastructure, enabling the design, implementation, and utilization of generative AI technologies.



According to a statement from the Department of Defense, the overarching objective is to leverage AI in order to enhance operations related to business, health, preparedness, policy, and the capabilities for warfare.
