UAE and Saudi Arabia Compete in the Realm of AI



Saudi Arabia and the UAE are showing keen interest in leading the AI space, pouring millions into their efforts. According to the Financial Times, both countries are splurging on top-notch chips to further AI advancements. For instance, Saudi Arabia has placed an order for 3,000 of Nvidia's latest chips, and the UAE has followed suit with a similar order.



These chips come with a hefty price tag of about $40,000 each, putting Saudi Arabia's total spend at a whopping $120 million. The nation is not just stocking up on semiconductors but is also working on creating its own advanced AI language model and is in the later stages of building a supercomputer.



The funding for these massive purchases comes from state-owned entities. For Saudi Arabia, the order is facilitated through the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology
